After an extensive search, vetting, and interview process, Enumclaw School District is proud to announce that Nicole Tronvig has been selected as Planning Principal for ESD Elementary #6, beginning July 1, 2026. 

Nicole Tronvig is a dedicated and compassionate educational leader with over 19 years of experience serving students, staff, and families in the Maple Valley community. She currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Tahoma Elementary and has held a variety of leadership roles, including Dean of Students, instructional coach, and classroom teacher.

The Planning Principal plays a critical leadership role before a school opens and is responsible for helping design the vision, culture, and educational program of the new school. They work closely with district leaders, staff, and the community to:

  • Develop the school’s identity and student/family experience

  • Support the hiring and onboarding of staff

  • Provide input on building design and learning spaces

  • Build strong relationships with families and community partners

  • Ensure a successful and smooth school opening

  • Serve as the school's principal


Nicole brings valuable experience in opening a new school, having co-led the launch of Tahoma Elementary. She is known for her strong focus on building a positive school culture, fostering meaningful relationships, and supporting high-quality instruction for all students. Her leadership emphasizes collaboration, equity, and ensuring every student feels known, supported, and challenged to succeed.

Nicole holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and is passionate about partnering with families and the community to create a school environment where all students thrive.

Enumclaw School District is excited to welcome Nicole to our district and looks forward to partnering with her as she supports the construction and opening of a new elementary school in Black Diamond and builds strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
